Love in the Lead is a leader in the dog training industry, with extensive experience and proven success in puppy training, advanced obedience training, behavior modification, therapy dog training, and service dog training. We offer a variety of educational services for developing dog trainers, or individuals interested in pursuing a career in dog training.
Internships
We offer a 3 month unpaid internship, which is excellent for individuals interested in getting into the field of dog training. Each month interns focus on a specific type of training, starting with puppy training, then advancing into adult dog training, including more advanced off-leash obedience training. In the final month, interns have the opportunity to shadow our therapy and service dog program. Internship program schedules can vary, but typically the program runs 6 days per week, with 8-9 hour days.
Shadow Program
This is a paid program designed for dog trainers that are looking to improve their dog training skills, client training skills, or business management skills. There will be opportunities to shadow dog training, client lessons, graduate services, and team meetings. There is also ample time with our Owner/CEO to discuss the business side of dog training; including program development, leadership/management, marketing, sales, customer service, and staff development.
This program is great for individuals currently working as a professional dog trainer but may want to start their own business, or grow their current business. Our shadow program is typically Monday-Friday and runs for 4 weeks. We offer flexible scheduling, as many shadow students continue to work while completing this program.
Cost: $5,000 (payment plans available).
